The brand looks to be expanding the CLLCTV name beyond racing

German cycling brand Canyon is best known for its premium range of gravel, mountain and road bikes however, it is now expanding into rider fashion with the CLLCTV streetwear range.

The new range is split into the ‘Core’ collection and the limited edition ‘Concrete College’ collection which Canyon says is: “Made to be worn anywhere from the forest trails to the city streets, Canyon CLLCTV Streetwear clothing is designed to be rideable, hard wearing and versatile.”

Canyon is keen to emphasise that it has been designed with functionality at the heart of the new range using T400 and Muru fabrics to increase the durability of the garments.

The CLLCTV range has been designed by TOME, a designer based in Koblenz – the same city where Canyon has its headquarters.

In a press release issued by Canyon, TOME said, “I was inspired by the subcultures of the past when creating the CLLCTV streetwear and wanted to combine future trends and functionality with quality materials. CLLCTV is a 90s soul with a futuristic heartbeat that connects people with an instantly recognisable street uniform.”

The CLLCTV name has typically been associated with the brand's downhill mountain bike racing team, but with this new clothing range bearing the same name the brand is looking to broaden the CLLCTV label to include other subgroups of the riding scene.

Speaking ahead of the collection’s release, Canyon said, “Our vision is to become the ultimate streetwear brand for young riders and beyond, by combining their lifestyle and passion for adventure through riding and street fashion.”

Core collection

The Core collection is made up of 15 pieces including t-shirts, jackets, hoodies, trousers and hats. This range is for basic use, with a focus on simplicity and functionality.

Canyon says the Core collection is designed to be durable and comfortable. It makes use of versatile, neutral colours, including lots of grey, black and brown.

Concrete College collection

Joining the Core range is the limited edition Concrete College collection. This looks to bring 90s street fashion to the 2024 riding scene. This collection is made solely in Europe and aims to redefine streetwear with a focus on using premium, sustainable materials. The range makes use of recycled materials and organic cottons.

A notable inclusion to the Concrete College range is the Crash pant that has been constructed from T400 fabric. This is a fabric that is well regarded for its durability and resistance to wear and tear. Canyon says that, “This piece not only encapsulates the durability and resilience of the era but also serves as a testament to the collection’s commitment to quality.”

Both collections are available now, directly from Canyon’s website or via Canyon's mobile app. The brand has also announced that there will be future CLLCTV drops in Autumn and Winter with the possibility of collaborative collections also in the pipeline.
