Primož Roglič is a Slovenian Grand Tour winner who races for the Bora-Hansgrohe team.
He starting his career riding for the Adria Mobil team at Continental level before stepping up to the WorldTour with Jumbo-Visma in 2016. He has won three editions of the Vuelta a España and one Giro d'Italia.
The Slovenian was seen as a strong time trialist at first but quickly established himself as one of the most robust week-long stage race riders on the planet with wins in the Tour of the Basque Country and the Tour de Romandie. He finished fourth in the Tour de France in 2018 before taking third in the following year’s Giro d’Italia. However, he would eventually win three straight editions of the Vuelta a España between 2019 and 2021 to become one of the most successful Grand Tour riders of his generation. He would lose the Tour de France on the penultimate stage in 2020 to his countryman Tadej Pogačar.
In the first part of 2023, his main focus was the Giro d'Italia where, after a long battle with Geraint Thomas, he eventually grabbed the lead during the final time trial to win his first pink jersey.
At the Vuelta a España, the Slovenian finished third overall behind teammates Sepp Kuss and Jonas Vingegaard. Following the race he was allowed to transfer to Bora-Hansgrohe despite having a year remaining on his Jumbo-Visma contract.
In 2024 he will focus on winning the Tour de France.
