50 Years Of Dura-Ace: From Outsider To Cycling Domination

We celebrate 50 years of the Shimano Dura-Ace, tracing the history of the groupset since its launch in 1973. Si rides Sean Yates’ 1984 7-Eleven team bike with Shimano Indexed Shifting (SIS), a Lance Armstrong-era Trek, Mark Cavendish’s 2011 Tour de France S-Works McLaren Venge with electronic Di2 shifting, as well as his own 12-speed Pinarello F9.
