Lore Cycle has launched a new 3D-printed shoe
Lore Cycle says it has produced the “world’s most advanced cycling shoe” yet through its new LoreTwo range.
Each LoreTwo shoe is custom made based on scans of a rider’s foot and then 3D printed using either carbon or nylon, resulting in what the American brand says is the “best fitting and biomechanically efficient shoes ever made.” Considering the lofty claims, it isn’t too surprising that the new shoes are joined by an equally eye-catching price tag, with costs starting from $1,349.

That’s actually cheaper than its predecessor, the LoreOne, which became Lore’s first 3D-printed, custom shoe when it was released in 2021. More than that, the American brand said it was the first custom, 3D-printed shoe of its kind ever created.
To manufacture the LoreOne, a customer had to take a scan of their foot using an app but that process has now changed for the LoreTwo, which requires a trip to a retailer for a more comprehensive foot scan. This takes under 10 minutes and the scan is then sent to Lore in California where it will create the shoes using “revolutionary continuous carbon fiber robotic 3D printing”. The process leads to “sub-millimeter” precision, it says, for the best possible fit.

That’s not where the differences end, as Lore says it has reigned in some of the more radical design elements of the original shoe to hone in on performance. Perhaps unsurprisingly, this includes a greater focus on aerodynamics, while Lore says the LoreTwo also provides better power transfer, efficiency and removes dead spots.
“The LoreTwo bridges the gap between the extremity of the LoreOne and the sport’s more traditional cues,” Lore said in a press release. “While the LoreOne was a radical expedition to the outer universe of cycling performance, the LoreTwo also offers increased power and efficiency over traditional cycling shoes, but in a package that is highly tunable and forgiving.”
There are three models in the new range available, starting with the top-tier LoreTwo Mid Carbon. As the name suggests, this is constructed from carbon, including a patent-pending dorsal upper panel. These panels stretch a little higher up the foot towards the ankle, hence the ‘mid’ part of the name.
The remaining two pairs use a low design where the upper section of the shoe doesn’t stretch as high. The first of these is the mid-tier LoreTwo Low Carbon before the only nylon shoe in the range, the LoreTwo Low Nylon, completes the range.
LoreTwo pricing:
- LoreTwo Mid Carbon: $1,849
- LoreTwo Low Carbon: $1,649
- LoreTwo Low Nylon: $1,349
